Power supplies are a component found inside your computer, nearly every single computer you find will have some sort of power supply inside of it; this will commonly come in the form of an internal power supply, external power brick or sometimes integrated directly on other components.
The job of a power supply is to convert the power from your building, into the type that your computer needs. Most modern power supplies can convert power from alternating current "AC" at a wide range of voltages and frequencies, to the direct current "DC", voltages and frequencies that most computers need.
